 To Whom it may Concern,

My name is Justin Hart, and I’m an Electrical Engineering student in my last year at Casper College. My interest in Electrical Engineering is in robotics. My friend Kenny Wells and I are interested in learning how to design and program vehicles to run by remote control. We have been in contact with Tinosch Ganjineh, the Project Manager for “The Spirit of Berlin”. This is a completely autonomous car designed and built by students at the Freie Universitat of Berlin and Autonomous Labs. Autonomous Labs has invited us to go to Germany for two weeks and study with their team.

Autonomous Labs has developed many fantastic innovations; one of them is a wheelchair for quadriplegics that can be controlled with eye movements.
We have wanted to build a remote controlled vehicle for the past two years. Our project will include replacing a gas engine with an electric motor. Then we will install sensors, servos and controllers to operate the vehicle by remote control.

In today’s economy robots and remotely operated devices are becoming more and more a necessity. They are used in medical fields, production lines and in our military. We believe that this project will enhance our knowledge in the fields of robotics and automation. By going to Berlin to study with the team from “The Spirit of Berlin” we will be able to gain valuable experiences in the field of automation.

We have requested donations from a variety of sources through Casper College but more donations are welcome to help with the travel costs. Our total cost is divided into transportation, accommodations and meals. We estimate that the total cost of this trip will be $3,000 for both of us to go.

My contact information, along with that of my instructor is listed below, as well as information on how to send in a donation.
We will also be updating a webpage on our trip while we are there. A link will be posted on the Casper College web site

Sincerely
Justin Hart and Kenny Wells
